Since 1974, Bob Caldwell has been involved in the computer industry. Working as a technician for a company servicing IBM 360 Systems, Bob and a partner branched out and started CompuPrep, Inc. Their primary focus was to refurbish, reconfigure, and install IBM mid-range systems.
Eventually, CompuPrep spun off a sister company, Benchmark Maintenance Associates (BMA), that provided contract maintenance services for IBM mid-range systems primarily in the St. Louis area.
When personal computers came along and companies began making the switch from the mainframe to the PC, BMA decided that was going to be the future. BMA was an authorized Novell reseller until Microsoft servers took over the market. The company is the same but the name has been shortened to BMA, Inc.
BMA and Bob have continued to change over the years right along with the technology they service. Bob has now passed the baton to his son, Chris, for the operations and future of the company.
While Chris is expanding the company's capabilities and services, BMA's focus has remained the same: providing excellent customer service. Businesses associated with BMA immediately appreciate our attention to detail and dedication to problem solving. It is this level of customer service that is required of all of BMA’s technicians.
